RE: Week 2 Discussion

Professor and class,

At approximately 8 pm on the evening of May, 5, 2020 a man named George Floyd walked into a corner store to purchase cigarettes.

1-2 minutes after this, the store clerk called 9-11 and claimed that a man came into the store intoxicated and tried to make a purchase with a counterfeit $20 bill.

At 8:08 two officers arrived at the scene. They state that the subject was combadative and therefore they approached his vehicles with guns drawn. The subject is removed from the vehicle and handcuffed.

At 8:14 the two officers attempt to place the SOI in a police vehicle. They state that the subject resists, claiming claustrophobia.

At 8:17 two more officers arrive on the scene and things quickley escalate upon their arrival. One of the newly arrived officers yanks the SOI out of the vehicle roughly and drags him onto the pavement.

At 8:20 the officer that pulled the suspect onto the ground applies pressure to his neck with a knee. The SOI pleads that he cannot breathe.

At 8:25, after gasping that he cannot breathe a total of 16 times, the SOI loses consciousness.

At 8:28 The officer finally withdraws his knee from the subjects neck and his lifeless body is placed in an ambulance. 2 minutes later he is pronounced dead.

I didnt find any part of it difficult to address.
